The great thing about Witt is that he doesn’t act like he has it all together, he just speaks on the fact that he’s trying to get there. Similar to the theme of Kindest Regards, it’s the perfect letter-like introduction to a deep collection of work. This could be my favorite song on the album. “I’m looking to change the perception of people and all of the beauty it brings.” This song is a testament to those who are so consumed by money and material that they set the importance of the world aside. The title track, “Dreaming with Our Eyes Open” is first up on the album and the piano sets a perfectly melodic mood to an ironic set of harsh sentiments. A real exemplification of a concept album, the tracks on Dreaming with Our Eyes Open take the listener on a poetic journey through the highs and lows of Witt’s life it’s more like reading an autobiography. Just when his audience didn’t think it could get much deeper than Kindest Regards, this happens. This truly is a career changing album for Mark – better known as Witt Lowry.
